Edskills Language School

Edskills started in 2012 and has grown significantly since then. We became British Council Accredited in January 2016 and we have had significant growth in our student numbers. With the increase in student numbers, we have increased our teaching team, all Edskills teachers have a TEFLI qualification as an absolute minimum. Our students come from every corner of the globe, we have had students from Spain, Italy, Jordan, Columbia, Venezuela, Japan and China to name a few.

• Rates do not include exam fees, leisure or cultural activities; these can be booked and paid for at the School. • Rates do not include insurance. • Prices may change if there are revisions in governmental policy, fuel or tax increases, or other unforeseen events beyond the school’s control. All fees are correct at the time of going to print. The School retains the right to amend the fees as necessary. • Bookings which extend over more than one season will be charged the respective weekly supplement for the season concerned unless otherwise stated. • In cases of necessity the school reserves the right to exceed the maximum number of students in class.

INCLUDED IN THE FEES

Fees include tuition, assessment test at the beginning of the course, individual report, use of listening centre/multimedia centre for private study, self-access, listening and interactive technology centre, email facilities and guided e-learning

NOTES

• Courses start every Monday. • Each lesson consists of 45 minutes. • An intermediate level of English or higher is required to join the Professional English courses. Students wishing to join an Exam Preparation course must have an appropriate level of English relevant to the exam they wish to take. • All fees are in £.

Please note that the school will be closed on public holidays.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY OF THE SCHOOL

Cancellation of courses before You start
You must inform Edskills in writing if You wish to cancel your booking or a booking for one of Your Students.
If you cancel a booking more than 21 weeks before the Start Date, Edskills will cancel your course and refund the full fee. You will be charged for any bank transfer charges incurred in the refund transaction.
If you cancel your course between your start date and three weeks before the start of your course, we will charge the cost of 1 week’s tuition and a registration fee; the rest of the money will be refunded minus any bank transfer charges incurred in the refund transaction.
If you’ve requested Edskills to arrange accommodation for you or your students, your booking depends on the availability of accommodation.
If Edskills must cancel your booking because there’s no available accommodation, they will refund you the fees and deposit. After this refund, Edskills won’t have any additional responsibility or liability to you or your students regarding the cancellation, as outlined in clause 6.

Visas
Edskills will only issue a Visa letter to You or Your Students once the initial deposit of 50% of the course fees and a registration fee £50 is received.
If a visa application is rejected and we receive written evidence at least 14 days before arrival, we will refund the fees received in full, less an administrative fee of £250. Where we receive this evidence, the refund will be paid to you within four weeks of your providing us with bank details and signed authorisation that the refund should be paid to that account. If written evidence of a refusal is received less than seven days before arrival, the refund will be paid less the administrative fee and the following non-refundable payments: £250.
Some important issues:
1. Cancellations or shortening of courses after Visa has been issued No refunds are granted to students failing to arrive or who are absent during their course.
2. Periods of absence are not compensated with free extensions at the end of the course.
3. In the case of students being granted a visa, non-arrivals, late arrivals and periods of absence will be reported to the immigration authorities.

Host Families Accommodation:
Staying with an English speaking family is an excellent way of maximizing your educational experience. Every family have their own way of life, so living in a family environment can be fun, it gives you the opportunity to practise your English and it will provide you with a cultural experience that you will remember for the rest of your life!
Shared Self-Catering Flats/Apartments Accommodation:
A flat/apartment is your best option for cost effective, independent accommodation while learning English around your Course location. You have the privacy of your own space and the opportunity to cook your own meals while enjoying the company of other students from different countries. Usually the apartments are centrally located and close to local amenities like cafés, bars, restaurants, shops and buses and all are within walking distance of Course (maximum distance 15-20 minutes on foot) unless specified otherwise. Electricity and water meter readings will be taken every week and charges will be divided between the number of students sharing the apartment.
Hostels (1-2 Students) Accommodation:
Hostels provide a budget oriented, sociable option where students can book a bed, usually a bunk bed, in a dormitory and share a bathroom, lounge and sometimes a kitchen. Rooms can accommodate mixed or single sex, and private rooms may also be available.Shared rooms in the Hostel can be set up as twins. A Security deposit around £150-200 is collected in cash on the first day. Water and electricity is not included in the rates quoted.

3-Stars Hotels in the walking distance
Very well-known 3 star hotels are in walking distance from the school and the main shopping area of the city-centre. Usually the Apartments are only 5-10 minutes away to the historic Old-City and a selection of old Pubs, Cafes, Restaurants. Staying in a 4 star hotel offers students an upmarket alternative.
