Kings Oxford

Kings Oxford is an established international school offering both English language courses and academic pre-university courses across two great campuses in Oxford.

For academic students, GCSE, A-level and Foundation courses are available with start dates in September and January. Kings Oxford students will benefit from expert teaching and lots of personalised attention due to the very small average class sizes.

Outside of class, students will have the opportunity to take part in a varied academic enrichment and social programme with activities on offer including sports clubs, Debate Club, Student Council, Kings Enterprise, Duke of Edinburgh, Photography Club, and much more. All students are assigned a dedicated UCAS Counsellor to provide one-to-one guidance throughout the university application process. We also have additional specialist university preparation programmes for students aiming for Oxbridge or Medical schools.

Our academic programmes have a proven track record of success, with Kings students having been accepted to each of the UK Top 30 universities in the past. We also have close partnerships with universities including Bristol, UWE, Kingston, and a number of medical schools to offer guaranteed pathways to these prestigious institutions for Kings students. Over 86% of our A-level students receive offers from Top 20 UK universities.

English language courses for adult students aged 16+ are also available year-round at Kings Oxford, taught at the city centre St Michael's campus. Choose from Intensive or Compact general English, or specialist options such as exam preparation (IELTS or Cambridge English) and English Plus Art and Design. Our English courses are available with weekly start dates and suitable for students of all language levels, nationalities, and backgrounds.

Just 20 minutes by bus from the city centre and newly refurbished, St. Josephs campus provides a large, self-contained college environment that includes a large cafeteria. It is where the majority of academic programmes are taught. Facilities include large, well-equipped classrooms, most with interactive whiteboards; two Computer Learning Centres; a self-access Study Centre; a library; large cafeteria; a sunny patio for outside dining; and science labs.

Kings Oxford St. Michaels is is situated in a bright and colourful building in the city centre. There is also an annexe building with five extra classrooms around the corner on Alfred Street. Facilities include light and spacious classrooms; Computer Learning Centre with iPads; student lounge area; and a double-size lecture theatre (Alfred Street).

Kings Oxford also has a dedicated Art Department located in the city centre, a few minutes' walk from the main St Michaels building. The Art Department has fully-equipped art studios with art studio spaces, a photography studio, printing press and screen printing facilities, and computers with Adobe suite. This is where the Art and Design Foundation, Art A-level and English Plus Art and Design courses are taught.

There are a variety of accommodation options for students at Kings Oxford. Our Wavy Gate residence features single en suite bedrooms for students aged 14+ in a secure environment located midway between the two campuses. There are also two student houses offering independent living for older students. Homestay accommodation, living with a local family in Oxford, is also available year-round.   With its historic buildings and beautiful parks, Oxford is one of England’s most attractive cities. Students from a country without a UKVI differentiation agreement will be asked to pay tuition fees in full in order to receive a CAS. Please advise us as soon as the visa is granted.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY OF THE SCHOOL

6a. Cancellation due to visa refusal (all courses)
If your visa is refused, please send us a copy of the visa refusal letter. On receipt of this letter, tuition fees, accommodation fees and deposit will be refunded minus the enrolment fee, the CAS fee and minus any bank charges.

6b. Cancellation for other reasons
To cancel tuition and/or accommodation, a minimum of four weeks’ notice must be given in writing to the Principal of the College.

For cancellations received more than four weeks before the start of the course, the tuition fees, accommodation fees and deposit will be refunded minus the enrolment fee, the CAS fee and minus any bank charges.

For cancellations received less than four weeks before the start of the course (due to reasons other than visa refusal):
• no refund is given if the course is a long-term reduced price course of 12 weeks or longer (e.g. the Kings Diploma and Compact and Intensive Courses of 12 weeks or longer)
• for other courses the tuition fees and accommodation fees will be refunded minus a 4-week cancellation charge, minus the enrolment fee, the CAS fee and minus any bank charges
Accommodation fees are refunded after 4 weeks' notice or after deducting 4 weeks' accommodation fees in lieu of notice.

In the case of a cancellation, the registration fee and insurance fees are non-refundable.

Due to visa refusal:
Any tuition and accommodation fees paid will be refunded to the fee payer plus the deposit on production of the visa refusal letter. However accommodation fees will be retained if you have asked us to hold accommodation for you after the start of term while you wait for your visa. No refunds are given if the visa application was refused because it was not considered to be genuine.

For any other reason more than 4 weeks prior to the start of the course:
Any tuition and accommodation fees paid will be refunded plus deposit.
For any other reason less than 4 weeks before the start of the course:
Any tuition and accommodation fees paid will be refunded and the deposit retained.
For any other reason after the start of the course:
A full term's notice is required, so tuition and accommodation fees will be retained accordingly and any remaining balance refunded including the deposit. Deposits are not refunded if fees in lieu of notice are due and have not been paid in full.

Some important issues:
1. Cancellations or shortening of courses after Visa has been issued No refunds are granted to students failing to arrive or who are absent during their course.
2. Periods of absence are not compensated with free extensions at the end of the course.
3. In the case of students being granted a visa, non-arrivals, late arrivals and periods of absence will be reported to the immigration authorities.

Host Families Accommodation:
Staying with an English speaking family is an excellent way of maximizing your educational experience. Every family have their own way of life, so living in a family environment can be fun, it gives you the opportunity to practise your English and it will provide you with a cultural experience that you will remember for the rest of your life!

Shared Self-Catering Flats/Apartments Accommodation:
A flat/apartment is your best option for cost effective, independent accommodation while learning English around your Course location. You have the privacy of your own space and the opportunity to cook your own meals while enjoying the company of other students from different countries. Usually the apartments are centrally located and close to local amenities like cafés, bars, restaurants, shops and buses and all are within walking distance of Course (maximum distance 15-20 minutes on foot) unless specified otherwise. Electricity and water meter readings will be taken every week and charges will be divided between the number of students sharing the apartment.

Hostels (1-2 Students) Accommodation:
Hostels provide a budget oriented, sociable option where students can book a bed, usually a bunk bed, in a dormitory and share a bathroom, lounge and sometimes a kitchen. Rooms can accommodate mixed or single sex, and private rooms may also be available.Shared rooms in the Hostel can be set up as twins. A Security deposit around £150-200 is collected in cash on the first day. Water and electricity is not included in the rates quoted.
