Winsor Education

Winsor Education is a independent educational institution which has been established since years and we have been providing quality education to adults in various programmes ranging from English Language to foundation programmes. Recently WE has partnered with some well known universities in the UK to provide our students a smooth transition into higher education.

Based in the city centre of Birmingham, the location of our college is a short, two-minute walk from the Bullring Shopping Centre. We are extremely accessible from all corners of Birmingham by means of public transport and are minutes away from the major train stations. There are also many parking facilities available nearby.

Our mission is to honour the educational standards of the UK. This includes providing education of the highest quality which is both accessible and affordable. Our aim is to reach excellence whilst giving confidence to our learners to achieve more.
Students from all backgrounds and cultures receive training and guidance allowing them to become fine global citizens. Fees include tuition, assessment test at the beginning of the course, individual report, use of listening centre/multimedia centre for private study, self-access, listening and interactive technology centre, email facilities and guided e-learning

NOTES

• Courses start every Monday. • Each lesson consists of 45 minutes. • An intermediate level of English or higher is required to join the Professional English courses. Students wishing to join an Exam Preparation course must have an appropriate level of English relevant to the exam they wish to take. • All fees are in £.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY OF THE SCHOOL

REQUESTS FOR REFUNDS FOR FURTHER EDUCATION COURSES

▪ Cancelling your course/enrolment
For enrolments that are completed in advance of the course starting, you can cancel your enrolment at any time prior to the course start date. The College must be notified in writing within this period, by any of the following methods:
▪ Completion of the refunds form available from the course co-ordinator
▪ Email to us
▪ Write to Winsor Education, City Gate House, 25 Moat Lane, Birmingham B5 5BD
If you have informed us of your cancellation before the course starts, and no classes have been attended, you will be entitled to a full refund less a £150 administration fee. Cancellations where any classes have been attended will be treated as a withdrawal.

▪ Withdrawing from your course/enrolment
1. If you choose to withdraw from your course within 2 teaching sessions/classes of the start date of the course you will be entitled to a refund of 50% of the tuition fees (subject to 50% of the tuition fees having been paid, otherwise 50% of the tuition fees will remain payable) (with the exception of clause 3 below)
2. If you choose to withdraw from a course after 2 teaching sessions/classes of the start date of the course, you will not be entitled to any tuition fee refund, and any tuition fees outstanding will remain payable.
3. If you withdraw from a short course, duration of one term or less, you will not be entitled to any refund of tuition fees Examination/registration fees will only be refunded if the College has not paid these to the relevant awarding body.

▪ Non-Refundable Fees
▪ There is no refund on the Fees instalment plans
▪ Students who have made Late Payments will not be entitled to a refund.
▪ Students who have poor attendance or have breeched college code of conduct or any Home Office regulation will not be entitled to a refund.

▪ Course cancellation
If the College cancels a course, or the course does not start due to a lack of support, every effort will be made to offer an alternative course. If no suitable alternative is available, a full refund will be given.

▪ Request for refund in case of visa application refusal
If you are an overseas student and making your application from aboard or UK, there may be circumstances where you may not been granted a visa to study in the United Kingdom by the Home Office. In such case you may or may not be eligible to a refund. In case you are eligible for a refund your fees will be refunded less administration charges of £250/-.
o You WILL BE entitled to a refund if the refusal has been due to the non achievement in the College related points (30 points in case of Tier 4 sponsorship).
o You WILL NOT be entitled to a refund if the refusal has been due to any error from your side e.g. your immigration history, funds, credibility (including interview checks), incomplete application or missing documents (sent to Home Office), forgery or failure to comply with Home Office regulations. (This policy has not been devised to disadvantage any student. The college is forced to make this decision as on each refusal the college loses its 1 licence to sponsor the student for that year)
Some important issues:
1. Cancellations or shortening of courses after Visa has been issued No refunds are granted to students failing to arrive or who are absent during their course.
2. Periods of absence are not compensated with free extensions at the end of the course.
3. In the case of students being granted a visa, non-arrivals, late arrivals and periods of absence will be reported to the immigration authorities.

Host Families Accommodation:
Staying with an English speaking family is an excellent way of maximizing your educational experience. Every family have their own way of life, so living in a family environment can be fun, it gives you the opportunity to practise your English and it will provide you with a cultural experience that you will remember for the rest of your life!
Shared Self-Catering Flats/Apartments Accommodation:
A flat/apartment is your best option for cost effective, independent accommodation while learning English around your Course location. You have the privacy of your own space and the opportunity to cook your own meals while enjoying the company of other students from different countries. Usually the apartments are centrally located and close to local amenities like cafés, bars, restaurants, shops and buses and all are within walking distance of Course (maximum distance 15-20 minutes on foot) unless specified otherwise. Electricity and water meter readings will be taken every week and charges will be divided between the number of students sharing the apartment.
Hostels (1-2 Students) Accommodation:
Hostels provide a budget oriented, sociable option where students can book a bed, usually a bunk bed, in a dormitory and share a bathroom, lounge and sometimes a kitchen. Rooms can accommodate mixed or single sex, and private rooms may also be available.Shared rooms in the Hostel can be set up as twins. A Security deposit around £150-200 is collected in cash on the first day. Water and electricity is not included in the rates quoted.
